History:
Rhodes’ Art Park is primarily an institution founded by a renowned musician, sculptor maker, and artist named ‘Damon Papakiriakou’ and his wife Emily in May 2006. Initially the institute organised a small multicultural integration. The location of this place is in the mid of various picnic spots, the events started here quite slowly and after gaining repute they have become informal art feasts.

In January 2007, the event was recognised when the Art Park of Rhodes won a large scale competition in Greece of the private art institute’s and galleries. Later on, the Art Park started getting funds from the European Program Leader.

Today this art park is being operated as a non-profit organization. It is run by the’Friends of the Art Park’ whose members are art lovers and artists from different countries across Europe.

Purpose of the Park:
The basic purpose of this Art Park is to encourage and support different forms of art and music. It encourages and offers a platform to the new age artists and musicians so that they can expose their talent.

Attraction of the park:
The Art Park is very interesting place and holds many attractions for the tourists and visitors. It has no entrance or participation fee so you can come here as many times as you want.

It is an environment friendly park. The whole park uses photovoltaic cells that utilize renewable solar energy for electricity generation.

Its location is very pretty and there are many small wooden kiosks used for exhibitions. Some outdoor workshops are also available in this area where various artists can work free of charge. All kinds of music equipment and systems are available in the park.

Visiting Paris Places

The Place de la Concorde, that is the largest place in The french capital, is situated along the Seine and separates the Tuilerie Gardens from the beginning of the Champs Elysées. It is in the 8th arrondissement, or district, of the city.


The place was built to hold an equestrian sculpture of Louis XV that the city of The french capital commissioned in 1748 from Bouchardon to offer to the king. The place created an octagon bordered by large moats that no longer exist. In contrast to older places that had been closed, La Place de la Concorde, mainly open, served as an intersection as well as a ornament. It became the Place de la Révolution and held in its center the guillotine that executed in particular Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette, Danton, Robespierre, and 2800 others between 1793 and 1795. The place today maintains the general look that it had during the eighteenth century. The sculpture of Louis XV, removed during the Revolution, was replaced by the Obelisk of Luxor given by the viceroy of Egypt, Mohamed Ali, to Louis Phillipe. The obelisk, 22.83 meters far above the ground and weighing 230 tons, which marked the entrance to the Amon temple at Luxor, was installed in 1836. On all corner of the octagon is found a sculpture that represents one of the large French cities: Lille, Strasbourg, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Nantes, Brest and Rouen.
The place is bordered to the north by l’Hôtel Crillon and l’Hôtel of the Navy Minister that frames the rue Royale, in the direction of the east by the Jeu de Paume and L’Orangerie of the Tuileries, in the direction of the west by the beginning of the Champs Elysés then to the south by the bridge of the Concorde constructed by Perronnet between 1787 and 1790.

Ryanair recently announced it will launch its 39th base at Faro in March 2010 with six based aircraft and forteen new routes (28 in total) being launched. The well known low cost airline will run over 200 flights each week to/from Faro in an $400 million investment in the airport.
